Current Activities
Full Moon is on the 13th Nov.
New Moon on the 27th Nov.
Sunrise on the 1st Dec. is at 8.05 a.m. Sunset is at 3.45 p.m. UT
(GMT).
(Equivalent civil twilight 7.22 a.m. and 4.28 p.m.)
Mercury is no longer visible.
Venus is visible low in the west for a few hours after sunset.
Mars is no longer visible and will remain so for the rest of the
year.
Jupiter is still visible for a short time in the early evening before
setting in the west.
Saturn rises in the east just before midnight, still in the
constellation of Leo.
The Geminid Meteor shower will be at a maximum in the evening of
Dec.13th.
Pegasus is probably the most dominant constellation of the night sky
at present. It forms a large square and can be seen high overhead in the
evening. One way of finding it is to take an imaginary straight line from
the pole star through the upper star of the Cassiopeia ‘W’ to intersect with
the two left hand stars of the square. Brian B.
